This silver letter opener, nicknamed the Excalibur[1], was a solid silver letter opener given to a camper as a gift from his girlfriend or wife.
When both of the campers were killed, the Werewolves took the letter opener with their bodies into the cellar of the Uath Family Farmhouse.
When Lawrence Cooper is attacked by Richard Ryan, turned into a Werewolf, in the cellar, the former stabbed Ryan with the letter opener, poisoning and weakening him, giving Cooper just enough time to kill the now-vulnerable monster with a single bullet to the head.
