The Mossberg 500 is a type of shotgun used by the British Army.
Joe Kirkley took one from the ruined special forces camp and used it against the werewolves. Lawrence Cooper took it when Joe left the Uath family farmhouse to try and take control of the car in the barn: Joe was killed, and the shotgun was unused for the rest of the siege.
